Shopify Rollouts now distinguishes between launches, temporary events, and experiments. It can group changes to the theme, checkout, and customer account, with traffic allocation and conflict warnings.

What to check first
First, choose your objective: validate a full launch or isolate the effect of a single change. Set the portion of visitors to be exposed, the dates, the expected result, and a stop threshold. Test the mobile version, the cart, and the checkout before opening it to live traffic.
A practical example
For an end-of-year promotion, a store can plan a temporary page and an adapted theme. If they want to know if the new page improves orders, they must avoid changing the checkout at the same time; otherwise, the cause of any discrepancy remains ambiguous.
How to measure the result
Record active versions and dates in a log. Compare orders and average value between groups when the experiment allows for a relevant comparison. The test is not a launch until its winning variant is retained.
