Meta as a Shopify AI channel: check the product data you share

Meta is appearing in the AI channels of Shopify’s Agentic Storefronts. Products are shared with Meta by default via the Shopify Catalog, and merchants can manage catalog access and direct checkout.

What to check first

Open the AI channel settings and note the active permissions. Audit ten representative products: title, photo, variant, price, inventory, and product page URL. False data distributed to a new channel remains false for the customer, even if the interface presents it differently.

A concrete case

A store sells a garment in three sizes. If the feed shows size M as available while the product page shows it as out of stock, correct the variant or the synchronization first. Producing more content around this product does not resolve the contradiction.

How to measure the result

Distinguish between product visibility, site visits, and orders. Presence in a channel does not guarantee any recommendations. Verify which products are actually being shared after each catalog change.

To put this method into practice, consult the corresponding DIY Marketing Guide: see the guide's content and price. The product page indicates the terms of purchase.
